Friday 8th October
This isn't going well at all. We have been in a cellar with Jack since yesterday. We have no idea why we are here as Jack hasn't told us a thing. I think he is too scared to say anything so it must be something pretty big. I bet our parents are worried sick about us. We were supposed to leave on the coach yesterday and we didn't appear. Tommy has been very quiet, I'm worried about him. I'm trying to be brave for both of us but its getting more and more difficult. I wish Jack would talk to us but every time I ask him whats going on he just shakes his head and says he cant tell me. Ive tried shouting at him, Ive tried being nice to him but nothing he just wont tell me. All he does is sit there eating the beans on toast that we keep being given to eat. This however led us too another small problem. Well I say small rather a smelly one to be honest. Tommy and baked beans don't go that well to be honest. They give him the most terrible wind. I mean it!! Think of the worst nappy you have ever smelt, well believe me they don't even come close to that. There was a definite blue haze to the room and it was only Sunday. If this kept up we would be gassed out by Friday. This is not good, this is not good at all.
Saturday 9th October
Jack's brother came down to the cellar today and told us we were going to meet someone very important. He took us upstairs where there was a group of Leprechauns all sitting around a table. Three of them we had seen before as they were the ones that had taken us from the coach a couple of days ago. They were all looking very serious. Standing with his back to us looking out of the window was a large Leprechaun. He was older than the others. He turned to face us, as Jacks brother made us all sit down. He had a smile on his face but it wasn't one that meant he was pleased to see us and his crooked yellow teeth were showing. He had jet black hair that was parted in the middle and gelled to his head, he wore a long black coat and his eyes were clear blue. As we sat down he started too speak.
"Hello Jack, who do we have here then?" He pointed at me and Tommy as he said it.
"They don't know anything, there is no need for them to be here" Jack looked him straight in the eye as he said it.
He started to laugh and the others laughed with him. He stared at all of them suddenly and the laughter stopped as quickly as it had started.
"Jack you were always my favourite. You've let me down this time though haven't you?" he moved closer and touched Jack on the head as he said it. Jack pulled away quickly.
"Well then" he said looking at me and Tommy " Let me see, we have Sammy and Tommy don't we?" he smiled that awful smile at us again.
"How do you know our names?" I asked
"Oh I know everything about you Sammy" He looked straight at me, I nervously shifted in my seat.
"You are going to be very helpful for my plans this Christmas. Let me introduce myself my name is Carl and I am the leader of the Leprechauns.Well this branch anyway. There is someone else I would like you too meet" He got up and walked over to the door opened it and beckoned someone in.
"Ben" I shouted happily thinking he had come to save us. He didn't say a word though, he went and sat next to Carl. I looked at him puzzled.
"Oh sorry I forgot you know each other already don't you?. Ben here is a major part of the plan, did I not mention that?" he laughed again. Me and Tommy looked at each other then looked at Ben. His face didn't change at all though.
"Now then" Carl said sitting down again. "Let me explain whats going on shall I?. You and Tommy here are going to help me get rid of Father Christmas. You see along time ago we used to work for him, but well there was a bit of a misunderstanding and we got thrown out, Ben here is going to help us get back into the workshops, and you Sammy and you Tommy are going to help us kidnap him so as I can take over" I was expecting him to laugh but he didn't. Oh my god hes serious!!! What are we going to do now?.
"If you don't help me, well lets just say it isn't going to be fun for you working down the mines where no one will ever find you is it?" he laughed again and looked at Ben who was smiling at him.
"Our parents will be worried about us" Tommy shouted "They will come looking for us" at last my friend had found his voice.
"Err no they wont" Came the reply "You see Ben here has told them that you and Tommy were needed quicker at the North Pole so he would be escorting you there personally, so as far as they know you are already there. I'm so clever aren't I?" He laughed again, very pleased with what he thought was a great plan "Now then I need you to go back downstairs so as I can finish the final part of my plan. Would you boys like some dinner? Ive organised beans on toast for you. You've got to keep your strength up now" He patted us on the head as we were lead out of the room and back to the cellar again.
Right we need a plan and I need to think of one and quickly.
Monday 11th October
Jack was more talkative today. He explained that it was only him and his brother left now. Something had happened too his parents when he was younger, he wasn't sure what and he started to get upset when he talked about them so I changed the subject quickly. They had once all lived at the North Pole happily. Then one day Carl had found them wandering around the North Pole and had taken them back to Ireland. They had no idea of why they were there it appears they woke up one day and there they were. Jack told me his brothers name was Peter and how he had taken to Carl and believed all the stories that they had been told about how Father Christmas was evil and that he had taken control of the Toy Factory's away from the Leprechauns and replaced them all with Elf's. Peter had become upset at this and had decided to help Carl however he could. Jack wasn't so sure but he had nowhere else to go so he decided to play along with it. Then he had met me and Tommy and got know us and had found out for himself that we were nowhere near as bad as he had been led to believe. He had come back the night after he met us and saw Ben, Peter and Carl all around the table and had heard the plans they were making and he decided to try and warn us so as we could warn the others. Unfortunately Carl was suspicious of him so he sent Peter and his mates to find him and well the rest you know. I felt sorry for Jack I really liked him, this must have been really hard for him to do what he had done. It was up to me now not to let him down. A plan was beginning to form in my mind now. I only hoped the others would buy into it and it would work!!
Tuesday 12th October
I explained my plan to Tommy and Jack. They didn't seem too keen at first but I managed too persuade them that it would work. They just had too trust me, lets be honest neither of them were very good at making plans and this was the best we had for now. So it was decided that this would be the one we went for. I only hope it works.
Wednesday 13th October
When lunch came today (yes Baked Beans on toast) we gave it all too Tommy. Tomorrow would be the day that we put our plan into operation. This wasn't going to be easy but I'm sure it would work. Well I hoped it would after all the beans Tommy had eaten over the past few days, plus me and Jack were starting to feel a little hungry now as well. The toast wasn't that filling on its own. It was soggy as well. I'm sure Tommy would love to have swapped but that wasn't going to happen otherwise the plan wouldn't work. Oh what a plan it was though.
Thursday 14th October
Today is the day. We made Tommy stand at the bottom of the stairs as me and Jack laid on the floor near the stairs. When I gave him the signal Tommy let go, LOUDLY!!!. All those beans had been building up in his belly for nearly a week now and the relief on his face was a joy to see. The smell however was something else. OOOHHHHHHH the smell, in my whole short life I haven't smelt anything like that ever. It was pure eggy, smelly nappy smell it was awful. Saying that though it did the trick. Peter appeared alerted by the sound Tommy was making opened the door, coughed a few times and ran away. He then reappeared with a clothes peg on his nose and looking a little greener around the cheeks. He was closely followed by two of his mate also wearing clothes pegs on their noses. They panicked when they saw all of us laying on the floor, they thought we were dead so that part was working.
"I told you that beans for a week was a bad idea didn't I?" I heard him yell at one of his mates. "Quick get them upstairs and into the garden as quickly as possible if Carl finds out we have hurt them he will hurt us" I could feel myself being lifted up by Peter as he carried me up the stairs and into the house. All was going well so far. As we entered the garden I could feel the sun warm on my face and I tried desperately not to smile. He laid me down on the warm soft grass and I could hear the others being laid next to me.
"Quick lets get them some water" Peter said to his mates.
I listened as they ran across the grass and re-entered the house. I sat bolt upright and shook Tommy and Jack.
"Ready?" I whispered.
They both nodded.
"Okay lets go" I said and we ran for the wall at the end of the garden. Jack went first and Tommy followed. They both sat on the top of wall with their hands hanging down waiting to pull me up. I jumped but missed, so I stepped back a few steps ready too try again.
"Oi" I knew that voice and I knew it was Peter. I could hear him running across the grass as I started my run. If I didn't make it this time I wouldn't get another chance. I ran as fast as I could and leaped with all my strength. I grabbed both of their hands and they started to pull me up. Then I felt a hand grab my leg and pull me back down again. I was now like a piece of rope in a tug-of-war match. Tommy and Jack pulled with all their strength as Peter pulled as hard as he could at my leg. There was only one chance now and I had to take it. With my other leg I swung it as hard as I could and I caught Peter with it in the chest. The shock of it made him lose his grip slightly and I was then flying through the air towards my friends. We fell into a heap on the other side of the wall, picked ourselves up as quickly as we could and RAN!!!!.
